Saturday
We had quite a busy day today.
We started with breakfast at the library, for the Stuffed Animal Sleepover. What's that you ask? Only the coolest activity ever.
Yesterday, the kids dropped off their stuffed animals to have a sleepover at the library. This morning, we went to pick them up, eat breakfast, and watch a slide show about what they did while we were gone.
It seems that the children's librarian (Whom we love. She's the one who referred to the "anthropomorphic bears.") read them several books (of course) while wearing her jammies, and then she got tired and fell asleep. Once she was asleep, the went out adventuring. They split up into groups and explored all over the library, getting into various sorts of mischief along the way.
Peeper chose Big Bird to attend the sleepover, and I couldn't believe how excited I got when I saw him in the slide show, especially when there was a photo of just him! (Playing with a Bert and Ernie puzzle, of course.)
Peeper really got a kick out of it, too, and I can't wait to show Shrike the photos when they put them on Facebook.
Of course, we had to go down to the kid's room to play for a while after breakfast. Peeper rearranged the furniture, to put Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear's chairs together.
Then she declared herself to be Papa Bear and read a book.
Later, she said that I was Baby Bear, and "Baby Bear is with Papa Bear today. Mama Bear is checking her email, then she's going to go to MOMS Club with the Mom Bears.
Hmmm.
After that, we popped by the bank to deposit a couple of checks (yay!) and get some cash, and then headed to the Farmer's Market, where we bought, well, some of everything, I think.
As usual, we started at the CSA booth, and as usual Peeper charmed them with her veggie knowledge and enthusiasm. I always end up buying at least one thing just because she wants it (whether it's something she's tried before or not). A couple of weeks ago, it was beets, and today it was fresh garlic. I always use the powdered stuff in the jar, so I'm looking forward to trying the real deal.
Then we came home to put our veggies away and have lunch. I was trying to figure out what to fix, when Shrike invited us all out to lunch (her treat, from her "allowance" money - thanks, honey!), so we loaded up and went for Mexican food, followed by Baskin and Robbins (it's right across the parking lot, and is a given).
Peeper is a great little restaurant diner. She never has any trouble keeping herself entertained while waiting for the food to come.
Then we all went to Aldi, and got what we could find there, sent Shrike off to work, and headed to the "real" grocery for the rest of our list.
By the time we made it home and got everything put away, I was about done for the day!
