Thankful: Day 13

I'm a bit of a Grumpy Gus this evening, and Peeper was in a "let's sign 'poop' and giggle about it endlessly" sort of mood, so today, I am thankful for bedtime.

Thankful: Day 12

I am thankful that for the next seven weeks, it's a peppermint-flavored world!

Thankful: Day 11

I am thankful for those who have served at home and abroad to protect our lives and our freedoms, as well as for their spouses, holding down the home front while they are in harm's way.

I don't know which has the harder job.

Peeper Is Thankful For . . .

Art to look at (she came up with this on her own, right off the bat)
Flowers to pick
Her new Santa and Frosty the Snowman hats
Galoot and PerfectPup
Toys
Mommy and Mama (this one took a bit of prompting :/)
Gathering leaves
Books
Her birthday party

Thankful: Day 9

I got a late start on this "month of thankfulness" thing, and have only been posting it on Facebook, but I'm catching up now. If you're just seeing this (and you actually care), you can scroll back to see my post-dated posts.

(These are obviously in no particular order)

I am thankful that I am lucky enough to be Mama to the most awesome kid. I am constantly amazed by her imagination and creativity and insight.

And I can't even describe how much I love watching her when she's happy. We went to a swimming party today, and she was just beside herself for a solid forty-five minutes, splashing around in the pool. She was having so much fun, and was so proud of herself and her "swimming" skills.

I just wanted to put that pure joy in a bottle and keep it forever.

Thankful: Day 8

I am thankful that 16 years ago today, I wandered myself into a corner of the internet called "The Shark's Den," had the guts to very briefly introduce myself and admit that I was "questioning," and then managed to find my way back (thank you "followed links!") to see that someone named "Shrike" had responded. The rest, as they say, is history. Happy anniversary, Shrike!

Thankful: Day 7

I am thankful to have a job that I enjoy, with flexible hours, a very accommodating boss, and not-so-bad pay, for part time.

Thankful: Day 6

Today I'm thankful for Debbie, the Target employee who was kind and patient enough to go through my Cartwheel offers one at a time and calculate the discounts by hand (and mostly in her head) when the app refused to display the bar code for her to scan.

One of them was for 20% Ellie's new winter coat, plus I had eight more, on most of while I was buying all four items, so the fact that she was willing to go the extra mile meant that we saved over $16.

(Do you know about Cartwheel? If you shop at Target, you gotta get the Cartwheel app.)

Thankful: Day 1

I am thankful for the chance to go out for the evening with Shrike and some MOMS Club friends to play games and laugh until it hurt. I'm also thankful that Peeper's now big enough to enjoy having a babysitter, and even go to sleep for her.
