Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today, Peeper and I attended not one, but two birthday parties for Dr. Seuss!

The first was a small "Green Eggs and Ham" breakfast with the MOMS Club, that T and I put together. I read a couple of books (Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You and Green Eggs and Ham), we made Cat in the Hat hats out of paper plates, and we ate two very different versions of green eggs and ham - my actual-ham-and-eggs cups and T's pretzels / marshmallow / icing / M&M treats.

Guess which one was the bigger hit?

This evening, we went to a much, much bigger celebration at the mall, hosted by the local literacy council.

How much bigger? Our friend A made 250 cupcakes for it, and they were gone in forty-five minutes.

In addition to the cupcakes, they had a dance party with the Cat in the Hat, crafts, face painting and free books (all Disney movie tie-ins, mostly much older than Peeper's level, so I passed on those).

Afterward, we popped into a little restaurant for some pizza, and as we were almost finished eating, T and her girls came in. Of course, we hung out and played with them while they ate.

Silly girlies.
