Heritage Christmas

This evening, Peeper and I made a trip to a nearby town's "Heritage Christmas" celebration this evening. They do this every Friday in December, but this is the first time I've ever been.

They had middle school kids singing, every church and organization in town handing out cookies / hot chocolate / cider / smores, carriage and buggy rides (didn't do this, they sell out really, really fast), balloon sculptures and, of course, Santa Claus.

Thank goodness she got to see Santa, after our advent calendar fiasco this afternoon.

She also ate lots of cookies and s'mores, and got a balloon sword. As we got near the balloon guy, she saw a little boy walk away from him, holding a sword, and she said, brandishing an invisible sword, "I wanna sword!"

So, we got in line, and when it was her turn, she told him "I wanna soh-wuhd," and when he asked if she'd rather a ninja sword or a pirate sword, of course she said "piwate soh-wuhd," because she's heard of pirates.

Technically, she got two swords, because she popped this one.
