Daily Peep: All Wet

Peeper hit the kiddie pool today. This time she wore her cute little swimmy diaper.

  1. Okay, I'm curious, other than a cute little print, what is the difference in a swimmy diaper and a regular diaper?

  2. I don't know what the disposable swim diapers are like, but in this case, the swim diaper has zero absorbancy (there's no point in just soaking up all the water in the pool - and really, who cares if they pee in it) and it pulls on, like panties, and has fairly snug elastic, which (one would hope, but she's not tested it) keeps the poop in.

I read the other day that a bumGenius without the absorbent stuffer works pretty well.

(Read it on a blog, and then DoulaK said she'll use that if she forgets to pack a swim diaper.)

That's what we did on Monday, because we didn't want to get her swim diaper wet/dirty when she had lessons that night.

Worked just fine, especially for the backyard, where we're not that worried about pooping in the water, just want to keep her little booty away from any yuck on the bottom of the pool.

  3. I've heard that the point of the disposable ones is that they don't have that super-absorbency gel stuff that might soak up the entire ocean. They didn't exist yet in my day. We just put them in a bathing suit and hoped for the best.

  4. Right.

And lol, at the image of a baby with a reeeaaalllly big butt, and fish flopping around on the dry floor of the ocean.
