Okay, so, the banana was looking fairly ripe, we had an unscheduled afternoon ahead of us, I got over myself and we let Peeper try it out.

She picked up the pieces, put them in her mouth, and seemed to enjoy the taste, but didn't actually bite off any chunks or swallow more than a few molecules.

Which is all fine, and pretty much what we expected.

Actually, Shrike was expecting her to not like it at all because it was new, but she didn't seem to mind that a bit, she just wasn't quite sure what to do with them.

Now that the big FIRST is over, we'll let her try some other things, and she'll learn about their tastes and textures and, over time, she'll actually start getting some in her tummy.

No rush. No pressure. Until she's one, it's just for fun!

The First Taste

I didn't think to take an after photo of the highchair, but it would have looked pretty much like the "before," but with twice as many banana-bits, each about half the size of the original ones. And some banana mush. And probably about the same total amount of banana, because very little actually ended up inside her.

  1. lol... congratulations, peeper!!!

  2. What a cutie!

Was there any evidence of banana in her diaper?

What say you?
