One Year Ago Today . . .
. . . Peeper was conceived.
That morning, fifteen eggs were retrieved from Shrike, seven were fertilized successfully, five were chromosomally normal, two were transferred to my uterus five days later, and one grew up to be Peeper.
I'm not sure which was / is stranger or more surreal - a year ago, when we had seven embryos floating in Petri dishes somewhere, or now, when we have one baby sleeping in my lap.
The whole process has been pretty crazy, but worth every bit of it.
