Newspaper Feedback
The reporter who wrote the Thanksging story forwarded me an email that she received yesterday:
Subject: "Traditional Thanksgiving" articleThe newspaper's website allows readers to comment on each story, and that's usually the most interesting part of the paper to read, because that's where all the crazy people in town hang out.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the article "Traditional Thanksgiving meal doesn't always mean turkey" in last Sunday's paper. What a wonderful surprise to read the article and see the picture of a very non-traditional family. The most refreshing aspect of this was that rather than highlighting what makes the Shrike-Whozat family different, the focus was on what makes this family just like most every other family in RedCounty. Thank you so much for little bit of normalcy.
Oddly, there have been no comments posted about this story. I'm wondering if that feature isn't working on that page for some reason.
We were so looking forward to a> hearing the crazy people trash us and b> hearing the sane people talk about how cute Peeper is!
On the other hand, a couple of weeks ago, when Peeper's birth announcement ran (along with several others, of course), there were two comments:
Thursday Nov 6Hmm, I don't see any eighteen pound babies or anything else crazy listed, so I'm thinking they might be talking about us.
Am I reading one of these announcements right?
Friday Nov 7
