Evacuation Update
Both Anonymama and LadyKay have reported in that they've reached their destinations without incident, and will be staying put while Gustav does his thing.
LadyKay writes:
"They (the hotel) proclaim that they are "Pet Friendly" and they really must be, because they didn't flinch (too much) when they heard "five cats." Oh, actually we have decided that we don't have "five cats," we have "three adult cats and two kittens." Sounds (a little) less crazy. :Dand Anonymama says:
Actually, the motel seems to be full of animal people. We have seen a number of dogs and when we were going through the lobby with four cages other guests were looking in them and oooing and ahhing at our cute kitties.
"It's not the fanciest hotel room ever, or the biggest, but it's 100 miles inland, and it's shelter, so we love it!"The weather heads are now saying that the storm is more likely to go in closer to New Orleans, and the HomeTown area probably won't be getting too much action, but we're "better safe than sorry" kind of folks, so I'm glad to know they are out of harms way, whatever it decides to do.
