    Mine is up as well.

  5. Your decorations dwarf mine! I have the manger scene on the mantle, but have not gotten arranged. They are at random. Must do that before folks come tomorrow.

  6. You've got me beat too. We have the tree up and the village (which Maggiecat keeps stealing the trees out of) is on the piano. I do have the nativity scene (which Maggiecat keeps knocking over) and a few assorted other nicknacks out. Oh, and the stocking are up. All we have outside is wreaths on the doors.

There's wrapping stuff all over the living room, does that count?

  7. Thanks!

The part I like best about the lighting is that on all wall outlets in that room, the top plugs are always on and the bottom ones are all on one circuit, with a wall switch.

So, I have all the lights plugged into the bottom plugs, and I just hit one switch on the wall to turn on the whole room.

It makes me disproportionately happy (and impressed with myself) each and every time!

LK - Tell Maggiecat kitties who break Baby Jesus go to hell.

(Breaking a wiseman or shepherd just gets you some time in purgatory)

Anonymama - Maybe Goldiecat would like to help you arrange them?

The one element that's missing from our display is the stockings.

I had made red/white ones for all of us (me, Shrike, kitties) when we lived at our old house.

When we moved here, we shifted to a more burgundy palette, to match the furniture, and PerfectPup (who was a pup) needed a stocking, so I made all new ones.

Last year was BigGaloot's first Christmas, and I couldn't find another one to match ours, so I bought all new ones, but never got around to decorating them.

This year, I thought I ought to do that, but then thought that hopefully we'll need another new one next year, so we're just going without and we'll plan on getting all new ones when we're done adding family members.

    (Hopefully next year!)

(ie, after we have a baby. We're certainly not adding any more pets!)

  9. Sorry, honey, hope you have a Merry Christmas without me, I am leaving you for Anna, who also cooks. And probably does not like Feliz Navidad.

About the lightswitches. And it only takes me about three tries before I hit the one that turns them off. As I leave every day for work (or at least the ones I remember to do it) I also have to hit the lightswitches twice so I can remember which one turns on the lampost light for Whozat when she gets home.

  10. Goldie cat has not bothered the manger scene, but she got on the table where I have a group on angels, including 5 small ones. She knocked on onto the floor, but fortunatly on the carpet. Anonydaddy put it back and she returned and tried to do it again. He forced her to stop. After a few tries she suddenly jumped off, ran over to another display and deliberatly knocked down a rattan deer and then began to chew on it. Showed you, she said.

  11. Well, I'll miss you. I can keep my Christmas presents, right?

I would ask if I could keep yours, but they're crap, so I don't want them, anyway.

  12. Ahhh. I understand.

    Please write. And send photos.

Some of you would be ok, too.

  13. Oh honey, how could I possibly leave someone as funny as you. Will you take me back?

  14. Oh, ok, I suppose. But only if you learn how to work the light switches.

    Here's the deal:

There are three switches just inside the front door. Two operate outside lights, and one operates the Christmas extravaganza. Just flip them all, and you're good to go.

Inside lights off, so we don't burn down the house.

Outside lights on, so I don't trip and break my neck coming in!
