Thursday Thirteen #31

In anticipation of another negative pregnancy test tomorrow . . .

Thirteen Rationalizations Reasons that "You know, it would probably be better for the baby to be due in July than in June, anyway."
  1. Could be more than a couple weeks early and still have short-term disability coverage for maternity leave (not covered if I deliver before June 1).

  2. Ditto for ICU additional coverage (including NICU).

  3. Gets the kid's birthday awy from the week-long string of June birthdays in both of our families.

  4. LadyKay's college graduation (Aug 16) would be near the end my maternity leave - a perfect time to take the baby down visit my family in Texas.

  5. Um . . . .

  6. Yeah . . .

  7. Well,

  8. that's

  9. pretty

  10. much

  11. all

  12. I've

  13. got.

  1. 5. My kiddo #1's birthday is lonely all by itself in July.

    6. Even if you delivered a bit early, it would still be a summer birthday and so...

    7. If you should ever (for some unlikely and unknown reason) go back into teaching, your kid's birthday will be in the summer while you are off.

    8. For that matter, the kid won't have to go to school on their birthday either.

    9. You can have swimming birthday parties. It's a sure way to break a drought.

    10. With said summer birthday/out of school thing, it will provide the opportunity to do something special at birthday time, like take a trip, etc. if you want.

    11. Even though it is farther out, July is still close enough to be included in the family "birthday bash."

    12. Kiddo will be at a really cute, adorable age for those first Christmas pics, but probably still too young to be scared of Santa yet.

    13. It will be so much more fun to be pregnant farther into those hot summer months...

    How's that?

  2. Right, I was gonna say... you'll never have to send cupcakes to school. Your kid can invite whomever s/he wants to her party without offending anyone. Plus... you'll have a little baby Cancerian or Leo on your hands. They're both fine, fine signs.

  3. Good points, LK.

#9 - LK planned backyard (kiddie pool) swimming parties for each of her kids (different years) and it rained both times.
