Peeper Cooks Brownies

BigGaloot stole the last brownie from our Valentine's dinner, so I had to make another pan of them.

Inspired, I suppose, by Archie and Nick over at My Daddy Cooks, I let Peeper help out.

Family Time

Peeper playing piano and talking.

And some silly conversation between me and Shrike.

And The Queen Has Been Restored To Her Throne

A Pan of Lasagna, A Jug of Wine And Thou

While Shrike was dropping Peeper off at her parents' house, I scurried about, making this happen.

The uni-brain strikes again! We accidentally bought each other almost identical cards. I mean, the designs don't look alike, but they are obviously from the same series - both flip up vertically, and have that little heart brad at the top.

Daily Peep: Our Little Valentine

Peeper's Valentine's gift, a card for her, and a couple of cards from her to Mommy. Notice that she addressed the envelope herself. The other one, she drew herself.

Maybe with a little help from Mama.

Opening her present. She's gotten much better at this since Christmas.

She got some toddler crayons (She doesn't "get" that they are crayons, though, and just wants to play with the animals.) and a book - Alphabet by Matthew VanFleet, one of her favorite authors.

Then we shipped her off to her grandparents for the evening . . . .

Congential Heart Disease Awareness Week, February 7 - 14

As Frappa put it on Facebook earlier today, Peeper (with the help of an excellent cardiologist and a very talented surgeon) "kicked her CHD's ass" but many, many babies and their families are not so lucky.

Simone had a much rougher time with her ASD/VSD surgery.

Stellan walked right up to death's door before finally conquering his SVT.

And little Cora's undiagnosed CHD took her, at just five days old.

One in one hundred babies are born with some sort of congenital heart disease, and it is the number one killer of babies.

We can help to fight congenital heart disease by increasing awareness, making sure all babies are screened at birth, funding research, and helping affected children and their families.

Daily Peep: She Loves Me!

This is actually from Mommy.

I wish I'd gotten a photo of her delivering it to me, but I didn't know it was coming, so I wasn't ready.

It was soooo cute, though. She was carrying it with the front showing, just right, and handed it to me, like she know what she was doing!

I tried to stage a reenactment, but that didn't work out so well.

Since she seemed so interested in the box, I took out the candy, put it in a baggie, and gave the box back to her.

She pushed it away, looked right at the bag of candies and signed "more."

Yep, that's my kid.

Daily Peep: If You Thought She Was Under-Dressed Yesterday. . . .

Just kidding.

(Photoshop skillz. I haz em.)

She was actually having post-bath nakey time in the bedroom. Still just as cute, though!

We finally did get a diaper on her.

Sort of.
