Brainwashed

I just informed Kia the Rainbow Mama that she has totally brainwashed my child.

The other day, around bedtime, Peeper was talking about Santa, so I told her to "Go to sleep and dream about him."

She was all "I can dream about Santa?!" so I said, "Well, maybe if you think about him when you're going to sleep, you'll dream about him." (Sure, whatever?)

So, tonight, for some reason she was not conking right out like she usually does, and was flopping around, and getting up and "I just sittin' here on the (side of the) bed" and such.

At one point, she said something about dreaming, so I asked "What do you want to dream about?"

"VEGETABLES!"

Seriously. She is three years old, and she wants to dream about vegetables.

So, first kneeling by the foot of the bed, where she was lying upside down and not nursing (probably to avoid falling asleep) and a little while later while she nursed, I talked about veggies, in the most soothing, sleepy voice I could muster, describing in as much yummy detail as possible every veggie (and fruit) I could think of, organized by color, of course, as she fell asleep.

I could not make this shit up if I tried.
