Gingerbread House

We went with the pre-built, ready-to-decorate option again this year, which is a good thing, because I don't think Peeper would have stood for sitting around and watching me build it.

She barely stood for sticking the candy on it. She was much more about eating the candy and licking off the icing.

Oh well, that's half the fun, right?

  1. Pre-assembled is the way to go. I used to do it the hard way, of course, mixing up a batch of gingerbread and cutting out pieces and baking them, but they always kind of warped in the oven and then they wouldn't quite fit together unless we used a ton of icing. We ended up with some interesting houses but really, the kids just wanted to eat the candy. I should have just skipped all the work and given them a bowl of Smarties.
