Egg-cellent News, So Far!
We just got home from the clinic, and everything is looking better than expected, so far.
First, things went well last night, with our trip down and hotel stay. Shrike did not get off work early, nor did Peeper go to bed early, so we were up til about 1:30 and then the alarm when off at 5:15, but other than that, it couldn't have gone more smoothly.
Peeper barely budged this morning, I got her all goodied up, and then before I could offer her the other side (but I was okay with her not getting it) she let go, rolled over and went on back to sleep.
When we got back to the hotel at about 10 am, she was still asleep! We hear that she stirred for a bit around 7am, fussed a while and asked for us, but went back to sleep in a minute or two. Whew!
In the meantime, Shrike did great, and out of the 28 follicles that were visible on Friday, we retrieved 27 eggs, which is awesome!
Of course, not all of those will be mature (based on Friday's follicle sizes, they doctor is thinking maybe 10ish) nor will they all fertilize normally, but it's a great starting point!
(For reference - With Peeper, we had 24 follicles, 15 eggs, 13 mature, 7 fertilized.)
We'll get a call tomorrow between noon and three, telling us where things stand with that.
We stopped at Denny's for pancakes (and eggs, hashbrowns, sausage and bacon!) on the way home and here we are.
Shrike's feeling pretty good, although she was in a good bit of pain right afterward.
She just took her second dose of Tylenol and is headed to bed.
Peeper and I will follow as soon as I talk her into it.
