Somehow I could never quite get the hang of nursing lying down. Now I know that you're supposed to lie not quite all the way on your side, as you are in the pictures, so as to expose the boob for the baby and not have it half squashed under you, as mine seemed to be. Oh, if only I had had someone to show me some of those little techniques, and how to place the pillows for support. Now that I think about it, and having watched some nursing videos on correct latching, I even wonder if my babies were latched properly. No one ever explained any of that to me.
Well, of course, once the kid's as big as Peeper, you can nurse any old which way, as long as you're in the same room. (At least, with "goodies" like mine, you can.)
The trick I didn't quite have down when she was little-bitty was that I needed to be holding her in the crook of my arm, not just laying her beside me, because she kept rolling away.
When she was bigger, she was able to just lay there and wiggle around to where she needed to be, and stay put.
And now, well, she just tackles me, unhooks my bra . . . .
I'm just your typical lesbian who met, fell in love with and moved half way across the country to be with the woman of my dreams, writing about life, love and - holy cow - parenting!
I was beginning to wonder if some disaster had befallen you. Or you computer.

No, she doesn't actually know how to do that.
Yet.
