Daily Peep: Night-Night

Another, "Whoops, she's asleep and I haven't taken a photo yet!" photo.

Because, I swear, there is no rhyme or reason to this kid's bedtime.

She usually (but that's still a crapshoot) naps around 2 - 4 pm, then goes to bed anytime between 9 pm and midnight.

One day, she'll nap from 1 - 2:30, and then be up until 11:30.

Today, she slept about 10 minutes at the cardiologist's office (more on that in a moment - it went great!) and I figured I was screwed.

Then she napped from 3:30 - 5:30, and I figured she was up til midnight.

Then she went to bed at 9:30. And there she is now.

WTF?

But I'm not arguing with it!

Also, though, look at the photo again. This is a typical sleeping position for her.

What's the deal with her head.

When I rouse up in the middle of the night and look over to check on her, I'm always disoriented about where her face is, because her head is pointing all the wrong direction, relative to her body.

(And yes, I do check on her everytime I wake up. I at least look to make sure she's there, and usually watch or feel her breathe. Shut up. Shrike does it, too.)

  1. I see absolutely nothing wrong with checking to see if she's breathing. I STILL do it and Deion's 16 years old. When I go to wake him up in the morning and he doesn't rouse when I say/sing 'Time to get up, sleepy boy' (You got a problem with that? He's STILL my baby!) I get a tiny, tiny bit nervous and go over to put my hand on his chest... and wait for it to go up and down.
