Christmas Party
We kept our Christmas party fairly small this year, just four other families came, but with four big kids and three toddlers, it still seemed like a housefull!
Shrike's sister was here with her partner and two kids, LiPA and her kids came, as did the GroceryGals with BabyBigBoyC and one of our babywearing friends from PrideFest, with BabyBigBoyB.
The table, with the food that we provided. It was much fuller by the time everyone got here.
Tortilla chips, three dips - salsa, queso, hummus.
Ritz crackers, Wheat Thins, Anonymama's Cheese Dip
Mrs. Claus' nipples, M&Ms, pretzels, Cheerios. (Hey, we had three toddlers, remember!)
Chips and dips again, with watermelon and honeydew.
Peeper and her boys.
I tried making a batch of Mrs. Claus's nipples this afternoon, and they turned out not too bad. I had the oven too warm at first, but finally got it right so they would melt nicely and I could push the Smarties into the chocolate. The ones that turned out funny looking are for my hubby and son to eat, and the good ones are for a party I'm going to. They're really good, and kind of addictive! (I think it's the combo of sweet chocolate and salty pretzel.) The only downside was having to unwrap each and every one of those confounded little Kisses. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with overheating them at first. About 250 degrees seemed to work, for something less than five minutes.
ReplyDeleteThat's for Hugs; the milk chocolate melts differently than the white.
The unwrapping is awful tedious, isn't it?
The salt/sweet is wonderful. Then add the minty if you use the candy cane hugs.
Yummy!
