A Different Kind of Double Mother's Day
I've just gotten the all-clear to blog about some wonderful news that's been hush-hush for several weeks.
BabyBro and HisLovelyWife are pregnant!!!
With twins!!!
They found out at the beginning of March, and had their six-week confirmation ultrasound literally during Peeper's surgery.
(Poor Anonymama. This was even worse than the day that LadyKay and Peeper were both having heart tests. And this time, she didn't even know how many grandbabies she was supposed to be worrying about!)
Just minutes after we were told that Peeper was off the heart-lung bypass, I received a text message from HerLovelyAunt saying, "No definitive news yet, because we couldn't see any heartbeats [I knew that this is not a big deal at six weeks] but everything is in the right place and the right size - and there are TWO!"
The following week, they were able to see both heartbeats, and at fourteen weeks, both babies are looking great - growing right on target, excellent nuchal translucency measurements, great bloodwork and everything else.
Their next ultrasound will be in five weeks, and assuming the babies aren't being shy, we should be able to find out the sexes then.
She's due November 7, but of course, it's likely that she'll deliver a bit before that.
At any rate, they'll be roughly (or exactly!) a year younger than Peeper.
And we could not be more excited for them!
Here's a photo of our niece(s) and/or nephew(s), at twelve weeks.
Congratulations to BabyBro and HisLovelyWife!!!! :) And congrats to the both of you for becoming Aunts again! Oh, and Happy Mothers day to you both, too! MUAH!!!!
