We're home from Texas, safe and sound, but I somehow managed to get zero photos today!

I guess, since Shrike was already with us, I didn't feel obligated to take the traditional "Got my Mommy!" of her and Peeper at Pizza Hut.

Oh well. You'll get over it.

The Whole Fam Damnily

We've not had many opportunities to get a photo like this. Shrike's only met the twins once before, when they were about three months old. On that visit, we planned to get a family photo while we were all dressed up for their baby shower, but LadyKay got sick and wasn't able to make it.

So, this is the first chance we've had since then to get a picture of all of us.

It was more of a challenge than we expected. This may require some Photoshop splicing.

"Christmas Eve"

BabyBro and HisLovelyFamily came into town today, and we did our traditional-ish gift opening and tamale dinner this evening.

As you can imagine, Peeper was super-excited about the US Presidents flashcards!

All the kids got animal "camping" chairs and flashlights from Grandma and Grandpa. Peeper's is a lion, DaNiece has a frog, and DaNephew's is a puppy. All of the flashlights are bees.

Here, I think she's helping me open one of my gifts.

By the time we finished with the gifts, the twins were about done, so they headed to bed. Peeper, on the other hand, was still raring to go.

The twins had also gotten a play tent, and Frappa actually got a real tent, so tenting was on their minds, and Frappa decided to build on - or maybe it's a fort - for Peeper.

She started with four dining chairs and a queen-size fitted sheet. Genius.

Oh look, there's the genius now, along with Little Miss Copycat. (That's LadyKay's NumberOne playing a game on his phone in the background there.)

I promise she liked it more than this.

Oh hi, Frappa!

Visiting with Aunt Frappa

Before Shrike hit town this evening, Peeper and I dropped Anonymama off to get her hair "did," ran to Target, had breakfast at Starbucks, picked up some dry cleaning, hit the grocery store, visited Grandma's beauty shop ladies then took her back home, changed Peeper's clothes that she'd dumped water on, and visited with Aunt Frappa. 

Whew!

Peeper made pizza for everyone. 

And then we played with the kitty that Frappa's been fostering and who will probably be going to live with the Anonyparents soon.

They have found themselves, over the course of just a few months, unexpectedly catless. They were really in the market for a kitty yet, but this sweet boy showed up, so I think that's where he's headed as soon as the holidays are over.

DQ Kid

Before heading out to the grocery store for Grandma, Peeper and I had lunch at the Dairy Queen around the corner from my parents' house. We used to walk there on our own when we were kids, so it holds lots of special memories for me. Also, you can't get "real" Dairy Queen around here (there are a few, but the menu isn't really the same) so there's that.
