Wordless Wednesday #69: Peeper in 3D

Monkey Toes!

Monkey Face!
The umbilical cord is right in front of her, blocking the view of her mouth. But how cute is that little elbow?!

Wordless Wednesday #63: Pirate Ships

There's a small airport near our home, which does a lot of skydiving. You can watch them from our backyard on pretty much any nice day.

Once, when our niece was about four, we were telling her, "Look at the parachutes!" and she said, "What pirate ships?"

So, now, that's what they're called at our house.

Wordless Wednesday #59: Mothers' Day

I think these are our first official Mothers Day gifts (not counting those from the pups and kitties in past years).

They are from LadyKay and her kiddos (thanks!) and arrived yesterday.

(Oops, were we supposed to wait til Sunday to open them?)

We're assuming that the "Mama" one is for me, and the "Mommy" one is for Shrike, since that's what Peeper will call us, respectively.

(Until s/he is too old/cool to have a "Mommy," then Shrike will be "Mom").

However, upon further consideration, it occurred to us that, personality-wise, they fit better the other way around, because I'm the bossy, controlling bitch and Shrike is more likely to be randomly pissed off and making everyone else's life hell.

(Love you, honey!)

So, I guess we'll just share them both, as we do everything in this way-more-enmeshed-than-can-possibly-be-healthy-but-it-works-for-us-so-fuck-you-if-you-don't-like-it life of ours.

Wordless Wednesday #58: Mark Your Calendars

Ok, I admit that I digitally enhanced the text on this sign, but only because you couldn't make it out on my fuzzy camera-phone photo.

This church is right up the road from our house, and I swear this is what it really says.

That's quite the guest speaker they've got lined up for tomorrow's service.

Wordless Wednesday #57: Babies Come With Hats

Yes, it's early, and it's far from gender-neutral, but it was a buck, on the clearance aisle in Target, and it was irresistible.

Wordless Wednesday #56: Little Peeper

You can't really tell it from looking at the photo, but that little smudge at the end of the arrow is a baby, with a great looking heartbeat, measuring just the right size for 6 weeks gestation (4 weeks from conception) - in me!!!

Wordless Wednesday #53: Oh Deer

Yes, that is a deer leg that BigGaloot is chewing on. He brought it home last week, and Shrike was kind enough to get photographic evidence before it disappeared.

I've suggested that she start guest-blogging about her dog-walking adventures.

We'll call it the "Doggies n' Dead Stuff Daily Diary."

Wordless Wednesday #47: Baby Mojo

Kokopelli, Fertility goddess, Anne Geddes baby butterflies, panda family, photo of us from when we first met (also the cake-topper at our wedding), "something old" from our wedding (see below), injectible hormones. Yep, that oughta do it.

These are the actual "something old" items that we carried at our wedding. Both are things that we had as babies, and that we plan to pass on to our baby. The hanky/bonnet was a gift given to my mom before I was born. I am told that I wore it home from the hospital. The bracelet and necklace were Shrike's.
