Wordless Wednesday #57: Babies Come With Hats
Yes, it's early, and it's far from gender-neutral, but it was a buck, on the clearance aisle in Target, and it was irresistible.
When I went shopping the other day I discovered that gender-neutral has gone by the wayside what with ultrasound. No more newborn stuff all in yellow and green. I have friends who adopted a baby who was 1 month old. They knew from his birth that he was coming. Her friends gave her a shower and she got 17 little boy diaper sets. Nothing else. Hopefully everyone is familiar with knowing ahead now and are a little more diversified. My kids were out of nb sizes in a few days and your brother was never in them. I can see how you would be compelled to buy that little hat; it is adorable, thought not on a big, tough boy baby. Precious.
Sometime you just have to say screw the neutral stuff! When it's cute, it's cute. And for a dollar? Bah! It is worth it for the smile it brings you.

Although we both suspect that Peeper is a boy (no reason, really, we just kind of have a feeling), we couldn't resist the hat.
ReplyDeleteIf there had been a comparable one in more masculine colors, we would've bought one of each.
Although we're not real big on pink and frilly, I do love this.
It reminded us both of - which is fitting, since Peeper certainly is "the embryo of the future."
now they didn't have cute polka-dots when my sons were little. just the gender-neutral pink and blue stripes!
